The Maharashtra Income Tax Department, Mumbai has released a notification for Sports Quota Recruitment 2026. Eligibility Details

Post Name	Vacancies	Educational Qualification
Tax Assistant	47	Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Candidates must possess typing proficiency with a speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour and hold a valid Sports Certificate.
Stenographer	12	Passed 12th (Intermediate) examination from a recognized board. Stenography skill required with dictation speed of 80 words per minute for 10 minutes in English or Hindi, along with transcription time of 50 minutes for English or 65 minutes for Hindi. A valid Sports Certificate is mandatory.
Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)	38	Passed 10th (Matriculation) examination from a recognized board and must possess a valid Sports Certificate.

Preference Order

Preference Order	Sports Achievement Criteria
First Preference	Candidates who have represented India in an International Sports Competition with due approval/clearance from the Department of Sports.
Second Preference	Candidates who have represented their State/Union Territory in Senior or Junior National Championships or Games and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Third Preference	Candidates who have represented their University in Inter-University level competitions and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Fourth Preference	Candidates who have represented their State/Union Territory in Khelo India Games (Youth / Winter / Para) and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Fifth Preference	Candidates who have represented State School teams in National School Games and secured a medal or position up to third place.
Sixth Preference	Candidates who have participated in sports events under categories mentioned from Second to Fifth preference but did not secure any medal.
